Pros

The benefits are excellent, positions tend to be flexible, job growth is not forgotten, pay is good, plenty of non-work events, easy to get equipment, stable job (for the most part). Overall, great working environment.

Cons

Qualcomm chipsets power a huge range of devices in the worldwide market. In order to stay competitive, the pipeline is always filled to the brim. This means that there's very little time for good software practices and much of the effort, at least from a SW perspective, is spent porting and patching. This gets tiresome after a while and doesn't provide for much satisfaction with one's job as actual innovation often needs to take a backseat. In addition, because there are so many engineers involved, getting things done is often difficult because there's always some team you'll need to get support from in order to get the job done, no matter how simple the task. The overhead is exhausting.

Pros

* Will have a chance to work on cutting edge products * Good benefits - medical, 401k match * Decent cash bonuses

Cons

* Promotions here are based on number of years you spent on the job not on how much you've contributed. This encourages incomptetency imo. * Politics at the midlevel management is abundant.

Pros

Respected company to work for. Privacy/freedom of work for an employee Very work oriented so good learning experience

Cons

Slow in terms of giving promotions Start-up kind of culture, Qualcomm works as a big production machine which mechanize the output from its employees Communication channels with in the company are poor and too much segregated Big void in responsibilities of a managers and engineers, engineers are not involved in the planning and have almost no say Working late and on weekends is very common
