Politics and lots of pointless overtime

Pros

Salary and bonus is decent. They order lunch and dinner for staff during quarter closes. Good place for quick experience, then move on.

Cons

Expected overtime even if no work is needed. Lots of politics. Not family oriented. Turn over is high in certain departments (about a year or two). You need thick skin to work here due to tempers of senior management.

Pros

The company itself has strong prospects and there are some solid people working in the office.

Cons

Constant switching of goals, often requiring complete scrapping of work already completed. Very little effort to plan ahead or even manage the workload. Management fond of telling executives "Yes!" without considering feasibility, leading to absolute chaos at the staff level. You will work weekends and evenings repeatedly, even outside of the core times they tell you to expect it. And most of the that extra time is wasted, chasing the latest priority while you allow your core responsibilities to languish and degrade. An utter mess.

Pros

Quanta Services was located in the Galleria area that has alot of places to shop around it. They did give bonuses in an attempt to decrease the high turnover ratio.

Cons

Written and verbal communication did not exist. The security for the building did not include any turn pikes which encourages piggy backers. Leadership did not encourage feedback or transparency. Foresight and expectations for large projects did not exist. The hours were extremely long (16 hours days are fairly common) and extend into the weekend. Quality of work was never a priority. The only time executives are seen is occasionally in an elevator. Promotions only take place when someone retires.
