Unrealistic Deadlines,Weak Leadership, Weak Employee Support, Poor work life balance
Pros
Opportunity to work on modern technologies and enterprise-scale projects. Exposure to healthcare domain and challenging business problems. Hybrid model for employees
Cons
Unrealistic project timelines (projects planned for a few months despite much larger scope). Frequent requirement changes due to incomplete stakeholder sign-offs, causing significant rework. Poor project planning(HCLS Specially) and lack of accountability from stakeholders. Developers often expected to compensate for planning issues by working extended hours. Regular late-night work, sometimes until 3–4 AM, to meet deadlines. Weekend work was common during critical deliveries with limited flexibility or compensatory leave. Frequent last-minute task assignments and unrealistic delivery expectations. Workload often exceeded normal working hours. Insufficient support from architects/management when requirements were unclear.( Even architect assigned from Angular background to support C# UI) Developers were sometimes expected to work on unfamiliar tech stacks without adequate onboarding or training. Limited consideration for employee feedback when workload concerns were raised. Communication gaps between business, architects, and development teams resulted in avoidable delays and rework. Very Poor work-life balance. Senior and Technical Architects had little independence and primarily followed delivery leadership decisions, even when technical concerns were raised. Sacrificing mental peace.
