Pros

plenty of independence--but this can backfire if you're the type of person who needs some direction.

Cons

Very focused on metrics/story performance, but no clear criteria for employee success.

Pros

great work culture, there's a real focus on creativity. great leadership at the top. work life balance is manageable because of good benefits and flexible managers.

Cons

can lack structure, sometimes managers rely too much on scrappy start up culture so there's not much leadership or institutional support of employees. because of the flat structure of the organization for some departments, reporters in editorial, there is not really a path for promotion.
