I worked on the IT side selling the EHR solution. This division was more of a burden than competitive advantage to the lab side of the business. We experienced a major RIF, went through multiple extremely poor managers specifically at the senior management level. The nail in the coffin was when they brought back a manager that was fired during the RIF and and promoted them to a senior level position. The new senior level employee is not qualified for the role and has caused a mass exodus from senior sales reps. The IT team also continues to spend an exuberant amount of money on a marketing team that can not understand even the basic principles of sales. "Go sell stuff" is not a strategy, and not listening to your sales team that has over 50 years of experience in the industry is reason for concern. It's too bad the product was decent, but instead of spending money to develop it to remain competitive in the market place, they decided to cut costs at the expense of existing and potential customers. As stated, poor upper management, a clueless marketing team with too much overhead, and a lack of focus is why this division is a sinking ship.
