      Wishing for better

      Pros

      The stressful working conditions force staff work together effectively. The staff members are an amazing group of individuals.

      Cons

      Poorly trained management creates a very stressful work environment. Supervisors are not trained and have no experience in the sections they oversee. Favoritism, harassment, and discrimination is commonplace at this lab. Opportunities for advancement and new training are only for the favored. Employment elsewhere is strongly recommended.

      Pros

      Benefits and vacation time are good. Fellow co workers are good people to work with

      Cons

      Overall pay is horrible. For all the work and pressure that phlebotomists are put under I expected a lot more. Although I love my job, the pay is not sitting well with me. Not only are we under pressure from patients, but also our management from getting our "daily draws" (we are expected to draw a certain amount of people a day), keep wait times 2o minutes and under, etc. You really can't help but feel pressure and like you're walking on eggshells when you get back an "error'. You really do not feel like you are appreciated at work and are given back more negative feedback from management than positive.

      Pros

      Excellent time off policies. Great support for family and other outside needs. Very good management incentive program bonuses. There seem to be good opportunities to move around within the company.

      Cons

      That is not seem to be enough development of staff and lower management. Compensation for many staff seems below industry averages. The quality of work life and career are too dependent on your manager.
