Pros

Good benefits and you will get in good shape because they are going to work you to the bone.

Cons

The starting pay is tempting at 36,000 for assistant managers. But the hours are terrible and 36,000 is not enough money to compensate for what this job does to your life. As an assistant you start out working close to home and the hours you signed up for. After they have you working for a while, they will move you to a ghetto store 45 min. or more from your house where people try to steal from you on an hourly basis. Your manager will suggest that you need to do what you have to get promoted and that means working off the clock to meet the unreasonable expectations of the company. This means that you will have 48 hours paid, 10 hours drive time, and 4+ unpaid. The store managers will work you at an abusive level, but it is because they are getting worked by their supervisors at an abusive level. Bottom line: if you have to have the money work here for a little while but keep looking.

Pros

QuikTrip offers great pay and excellent benefits. There is a real sense of comradery among fellow employees. Fast paced environment which makes the day go by fast. Good recession-proof job security.

Cons

I have worked for QuikTrip for almost a decade now and I still love the company but feel that we are currently going in the wrong direction. With expanding inside food services, we keep having more and more to do but yet we get no more help. This is leading to worse customer service, lack of cleaniness, food handling violations, and just a sloppy operation all together. The company expects so much of us but doesnt give us the means to do things the right way. Our DAW (Daily Assignment Worksheet) is filled with so many tasks for one shift it has become a complete joke. One clerk from 2 to 9 with 12 hours worth of tasks to complete. Not going to happen. Things were not like this in the old days, just hope the company comes to its senses before all of its dedicated employess start putting in apps at RaceTrac

Pros

It's the perfect environment for the Dunning-Kruger effect to meet with the Pareto principal. Seriously there aren't many pros to working at QuikTrip.

Cons

Long hours and horrible schedules. Grossly incompetent management that's completely out of touch with reality. Low pay. Disciplinary process is a joke. Promotion process is based on the good old boy buddy system and not on actual job performance. Managers and supervisors are all friends, making for an incredibly corrupt environment. Policy is written intentionally vague and subjective so employees have no rights.
