Pros

The culture was pretty relaxed when I worked at Quinstreet with a nice work life balance. Fun events and amazing holiday parties. The office layout is nice and functional.

Cons

The company's vision was pretty poor and they missed several opportunities to stay competitive because they weren't willing to change their business model. The people at Quinstreet were among the best I've ever worked with, but unfortunately many of the best ones are no longer there.

Too Much Focus of MBAs

Pros

QuinStreet is a company that pays its employs well and does reward individuals based on performance.

Cons

When I was there, the company was inclined to throw MBAs from elite business schools at every problem. While those professionals are important to a business, they don't work exclusively as line of business managers. Experience seemed to carry less weight than where you went to school and consulting "experience."

Pros

Wide range of opportunities in certain areas Nice people, decent office atmosphere, free snacks and drink Stock options for some Internet company with growth potential

Cons

Company attempts to keep bad news under wraps (to employees and investors) Direction of company is muddled at the top Uncertain future in key businesses Comparatively low salary and slow promotions and pay raises, if any Problematic acquisition last year resulted in employee churn and lawsuits Oversea employees have too much authority -- lack business expertise and not flexible with peers Traffic growth proving difficult to achieve
