Pros

Decently sized company without being too big. Company infrastructure is mature.

Cons

Weird culture that wants you to 100% drink the kool aid: eat, sleep, breathe Quizlet. Very bureaucratic. Managers are robotic and impersonal. Upper management seems to be grasping at straws for a new direction to take the product. It's unclear whether there is a bright future for the evolution of a product serving mostly free users who use the product for flashcards which is how the product started originally. Students generally don't have much disposable income. Interviewed then onboarded with a team for a month. At the end of that month, Quizlet had layoffs and a reorg that resulted in me being switched to a completely different team where I began onboarding again. There was no training in either case. Just a link to 100's of pages of documentation on Jira. The long time CEO resigned right after these layoffs saying that he didn't want to be a part of the next lifecycle stage of the company which he described as a "large Silicon Valley corporation". The code base is old and dense. I was told I didn't need to know PHP (old backend language used in the product) but then was given a handful of tasks where I needed to know PHP. Salary was mediocre and less than what was stated on the JD.
