Pros

decent pay, resorts. thats about all thats left now, who knows how long that will last?

Cons

where do you start? total disregard for the drivers safety, personal life, benefits. also no matter if a mistake is made by the dock, the sales staff, or even dispatch the driver is always the one left holding the bag, and losing a day of pay for someone else's screw up. talk about passing the buck. if the drivers are the ones held accountable at the end of the day dont they deserve a little respect. no matter where along the line a mistake is made the drivers are the ones to go face to face with the actual customer. Sure the customer can call in etc., but we are the ones looking someone in the eye and trying to resolve an issue we may have had no control over. "i informed one customer they needed to contact their sales rep because i was unable to answer their question. their response was " do we have a sales rep?" this was a long standing customer. but yet the drivers are expected to meet "production standards" or be reprimanded? im sure this lack of communication and teamwork extends to all departments due to a lack of teamwork , patience and everyone being rushed to "produce" at the expense of satisfactory cust svc. and employee morale. perhaps after I finally earn my masters degree from R&L university going to take my tests after a full day behind the wheel totally stressed out ,trying to navigate the city and find whatever surprises are in store for me. No lunch because i have not been able to find a drive thru express lane fast enough or large enough to get a truck & trailer through before my gps goes off to alert me that i have once again let the "team" down, then I wll have a better understanding of the skills neccessary to do the job i have performed the last 30yrs. Thank you R&L for providing us all with this opportunity to further our education. hate to think of what i may never have learned wihout R&L U !! I thought about going for my phd. but i dont know if i can continue my R&L education in the old folks home i wont be able to afford since i have no 401k..

Pros

Started with great pay as college student/dock worker, occasionally fun atmosphere, weekends off.

Cons

Upper management with no concept of proper business techniques. No respect for their employees. If your last name isn't Roberts, you're irrelevant. Outdated and antiquated technology and practices. This list could simply go on and on.

Pros

Good management, flexible, and very supportive of the continuing education of their employees.

Cons

Depending on your position, work can sometimes be repetitive so if you are looking for challenges, you have to be self-promoting and ask to be involved in different projects.
