Pros

1. R2 Logistics opens up at least 4 new offices per year, meaning if you work hard you can become a Branch Manager in under 2 years' time, something that is almost unheard of in the transportation industry. Crazy to see all these people that quit or got fired in less than 2 years because of attitude problems. It's really not that difficult to succeed here. Generally if you work hard, then you end up making more money. Oh, and they will give you a hefty raise each year you work there. 2. You get $1000 commission for each new customer you bring on. They need to just haul 10 loads with the company and make one payment, but it's really not that difficult to bring on new business if you have an ounce of backbone and know how to build relationships. This applies to everyone, not just the managers like some of these reviews state. 3. The company has a commitment to new tech. They constantly upgrade TMS and CRM systems to make sure that we are keeping up with our competition. Also, they just hired the former CEO of Transplace, which was one of the most technologically advanced 3PLs around. 4. The company spends a couple grand per quarter (proportionally to the # of employees) so that each office can get out and do something to thank everyone for their hard word. They subscribe to the motto, "work hard, play hard." and those gatherings are generally a great time.

Cons

Sometimes the hours can be really long, especially for someone in the Pod Leader or Branch Manager position. You may have to work as the after hours person on holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, which can be tough on moral. It doesn't seem so bad when you think about all the other people who also have to work during those times, but seriously the vacation package is not very competitive at all.

Pros

I did enjoy my time at R2 logistics. There were very stressful times but when you and your team got through, it was satisfying. The working environment was pleasant. Constantly being pushed by your branch manager and pod leader but they are pushing you to your potential. Oh, of course the commission too. Advancement comes along frequently because people couldn't handle it so it will give you opportunity. The fridge is stocked mostly all the time and there are plenty of snacks. I did create good relationships with co-workers and customers.

Cons

The Hours. Way to long. My branch did cut it down to 9 hours a day compared to the 10 before and it made a bit of a difference. The training is a bit weak. The more you call out and answer phone calls the better you will get at it. Sometimes it was difficult to talk to management. The pay does suck a bit, but you have to work hard for it and put in the time. Only pod leaders and branch managers get commission. Pretty unfair when the associates are doing 99% of the work. This will be the most honest review you will read about R2

All of our associates, from our admin staff to operations, are given the opportunity to earn commission from new customer sales. Commission for Pod Leaders and Branch Managers is an added incentive to award those who work hard and put in the extra hours needed to propel the company forward.

Pros

Awesome team environment, I have support for days. We are a tight knit family who takes care of their own. You run a "business" of your own essentially. You are responsible for your own success, there are no entitlements. If you put in the hard work, dedication, and effort to turn a name and number on a piece of paper into a dollar sign, then this is the right job for you. Nothing is ever free in this world, especially in sales. Fun work environment with freedom to stretch your arms.

Cons

The commission structure should be reconsidered for more aggressive and commensurate compensation for those who bring in the business. This will undoubtedly soar motivation and activity to new heights.
