Pros

Lots of autonomy—you definitely aren’t micromanaged. Benefits package is strong, particularly in the current work environment. The flexible offices are quite nice, but working from home is allowed as well.

Cons

High volume of work that keeps growing as researchers try (understandably) to diversify RAND’s pool of sponsors in the current funding environment. High stress goes with the high volume and uncertainty about the federal funding landscape (historically, RAND’s biggest funder by far).
