Pros

RAND has a great mission and reputation. RAND provides good support for professional development and fair compensation. The work is always interesting.

Cons

RAND is a large bureaucracy, and change can be slow. Information technology at RAND does not keep pace with the rest of the world. There is not always a clear career path for junior staff.
