Pros

I have loved my jobs with Retail Data for 11 years. I read these reviews and shake my head sometimes. If applying for the Data Collector position .....1. You have to want to work 2. You can make good to great money as a Data Collector, but it don’t happen overnight that is why we have the GPR program which helps build you to speed, but yes you need good trainers and good district manager to help achieve this 3. Training and communication should be the DM most important task and priority, if it isn’t talk to their supervisor the LM Logistics Manager and let them know your concerns. 4. This Data Collector job isn’t for everyone!! A. Must be a able to work independently and be a go getter and a self starter not a procrastinator. B. Must be a good communicator C. Need to be detailed oriented and accurate D. You need to be able to walk, stand, bend, reach for long periods of time up to 8 hours per day.

Cons

In every job there will always be something that you don’t like. Retail Data has doubled to tripled in size in the last three years and I don’t think they have really kept up in software, training material for District Managers and for the Data Collectors but are making the effort but we all have different priorities. Work as a unit instead of office vs field

Pros

Pick your own hours, no boss watching over you

Cons

The pay goes from $13an hr when you first start, down to less than minimum wage (piece pay rate) within a few wks. I scanned off 835 items and made a whopping $130. That's a lot of walking, bending over, lifting, time in the store, and you only get paid for what you scan, even though you have to spend time looking for everything on the list. so, if they give you a list with 835 items and you spend time looking for everyone of them, and you only find and scan off 500 items that's what you get paid for. There are no benefits, bonuses, room to move up.

Pros

Basically nothing that's good.

Cons

Training was horrible, it's spotty at best..I would have to call or find someone. Work was 10 dollars an hour and when I was putting in 400 plus prices in my first couple weeks, it was not good enough. I was working 2 other jobs because there wasn't much work. Manager kept adding more work. Multiple stores per day, when one store takes 6-8 hours. It was getting worse and worse..I had a lot of back pain..Couldn't take it anymore and quit about 3 weeks ago and only lasted 4 weeks.
