Pros

Cool people, fun atmosphere, good benefits, good deals on gear

Cons

Some management was clearly miserable in their personal lives, probably due to them not making a good salary and having a hard time affording to live in an expensive city like Denver. But most people were very nice and fun to spend time with. Very competitive upward mobility and hard to get out of the retail world.

Pros

Great people, good values, good perks, flexible

Cons

Pay for people in merchandising and planning/replen has been stagnant for the last 5 years. Through the pandemic, retail salaries went up and HQ salaries got cut. Our leadership has taken every opportunity to explain why salaries won’t be going up to match the increase in cost of living and never once taken the opportunity to address the concerns of the team around pay. We are losing good people ALL the time, I cannot recommend REI as place to work if competitive pay is a priority for you.
