Good company by retail standards

Pros

Dress casually and comfortably for daily work, friendly coworkers, product discounts, strong company goals and values that align with their products

Cons

None in particular - it's retail, so it's soul sucking, even at a good company. Emphasis on memberships is tiring but necessary.

Good for students!

Pros

Amazing community of co-workers, good discounts on gear. Good for students or people whose parents are supplementing their living costs.

Cons

Employees hours are cut when sales goals are not met, however this does not apply to managment. Hours are unrealiable. Poor salaries. Benefits for part-time employees don't come into affect until after 12 months employment plus a one month administrative period. I am suprised REI can win awards for "Best Workplace" when they don't care for their employees.
