Great Co-Workers, Great Customers, Great Discounts

Cons

REI is starting to become more like a large corporation instead of the small niche store that valued their employees and customers

Pros

Being a full-time employee gets you a decent schedule and pay. I really enjoyed working with my co-workers and managers, everyone got along and it was generally fun to work there. The pro deals are awesome!

Cons

The biggest reason I left REI was how awful some of the customers are. 95% of customers are totally fine, 3% are rude and/or mean, and then like 2% are absolutely abusive. 2% doesnt sound like much, but it really ruins your day when you have a total stranger unload on you and you cant even remove yourself from the situation. Yeah, its not every day, but over time its enough to ruin the job. Management shouldnt tolerate customers who act like that towards employees.
