Pros

Pay and benefits are excellent for retail. Everyone is welcome no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, or how they identify. It's a very forward thinking company.

Cons

Policies seem to change every five minutes and there is no clear plan of action. The policy seems to be to just throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.

Pros

Great coworkers, excellent pro deals and employee discount. Fun to talk about the outdoors.

Cons

Push for memberships and the credit card during the slow seasons can be stressful at times. Multiple departments are consistently understaffed, even during busy sales. Being asked to take on more responsibility and customers with fewer staff for the same pay. Pay is great for retail but raises are small.

Pros

Generous benefits package that includes comprehensive health insurance and contributions for your retirement account.

Cons

REI is currently rolling out policies for controlling costs. On the ground level that means employees are VTOed.
