Pros

A lot of really nice people work at RES

Cons

Leadership are clueless, both about what the company should be building but also about the renewable energy industry. Blatant cronyism, they don’t even bother hiding it. The leadership are either a bunch of clueless cronies, or a bunch of clueless naive people that have never work anywhere else and have no clue how to run and grow a business properly, completely stuck in the early 2000s. If you are considering a job in this company, especially in digital solutions, asset management, O&M etc. I would really advise against it. Only join if you like chaos and being under appreciated.

Pros

Good working environment and for me, good pay which I could not get anywhere else. In general people friendly and easy to get on with and helpful. Good benefits bonus and pension scheme. During my time with the company flexitime was in operation which I took advantage of. There was some working at home for me.

Cons

Too many redundancy rounds which caused a lot of stress. The company for the 2016 reorg got rid of a lot of key long servers who had served the company well. This could only have been to save money on large salaries. However due to the downturn in renewables in the UK some reorg was necessary

Pros

Interesting work - if you push for it. Great people to work with: knowledgeable, competent and sociable also. Ivor Catto is shaking the company up well

Cons

Slow to respond to employers needs. Pay isn't very competitive. Rigid in the hours we keep i.e. 9-17:30 (really can't see why there isn't any flexibility here!). Working from home is just for special people - despite the major improvements in communication software.
