Pros

I have worked at RI for a couple of years now. I have never felt more valued and appreciated by this company and my boss as I do here. Yes it has its challenges but we ARE ALL works in progress. I would not do what I do for anyone other than the boss I have now!!

Cons

There are cons at any job. And yes we have ours.

Intention is good, Management is not.

Pros

Vacation time is generous compared to companies.

Cons

CEO appears to be narcissistic, travels for his own needs and focuses on his own future. COO has been replaced as potential CEO by someone else possibly because she appears to be incompetent and defensive. "Management team" is removed from employees. HR is out of touch with reality and dealing with employees. Technology is out of date.

The Respite is garbage

Pros

If you are full time then you get plenty of hours.

Cons

Respite is like a 10 day 1/2 house. You will see the same guests come back every couple of weeks over and over again. Even when that guest shows no interest in bettering themselves we just take em back over and over to fill in the bed so the Respite gets paid. The job is basically babysitting adults. Rarely does someone come through that actually is in crisis and wants to improve. The Supervisor doesn't give a damn about his employees. Rules are never set or enforced and though we are told to use our best judgment every thing any employee does is wrong in his eyes. He quotes newly made up protocols to suit his need to tell you that you are wrong and if a guest ever complains he will throw you under the bus without a care of the employees story and perspective of what happened. So many employees had a problem with this when I was there. For a company that requires high level of empathy for its guests the boss sure has zero emotion or empathy. It doesn't make any sense. If you want to babysit adults this job is for you. If you want to be a Recovery Coach you should look elsewhere.
