      Pros

      There are some fantastic people working at RJ Young. The opportunities for advancement (up to a certain level) are plentiful.

      Cons

      The leadership is utterly pathetic and completely disorganized. Decisions are made with no data, no input from the people involved, and no real thought. Every choice of this $130 MM dollar company is based on emotion. The company also operates as an old boys' club. Only straight, white, conservative men are allowed at the top. Do not dare voice an outlying opinion. You will be ostracized. There are virtually no women or people of color in managerial roles. Also, they preach "do the right thing," but that is just a publicity stunt. They only do what is right when it's what is easiest and the most profitable.

      Pros

      No micro managing. Family style company, (however, they are losing that as they grow.) Supportive team atmosphere.

      Cons

      Raises are minimal or non existent. Changed priorities the past few years. More interested in expansion than family atmosphere. Now too big to even have company meetings together. Becoming too spread out, distant. Was family, now most employees don't even know each other outside of main office.

      Pros

      RJ Young cares about their employees. We are always taken care of and rewarded for our hard work. I love the flexibility and understanding of the many managers here. I feel comfortable and important within the company.

      Cons

      Management may need to communicate with each other more so that everyone is on the same page as a company. Some managers may be more strict than others so there isn't an even set of guidelines across board.
