Great work-life balance, good pay and benefits (ESOP) Employees are empowered and encouraged to take ownership of their work, hands-off management if you're hitting deadlines Tons of domain knowledge in the company (most employees have been here 5+ years) and everybody is willing to help Very easy to see myself working here for another 5 years
Cons
You're not going to be working on cutting-edge technology Even if the pay is good the IT department is fairly small, full of long-time employees, and job titles tend to be flat with not much room for career advancement Struggle to fill open positions (high expectation/standard for new hires, based in Peoria, lack of basic insurance knowledge in applicants)
