Pros

3 day work week and that's it

Cons

Typical work day starts with my supervisor telling me that the shift I work, 3rd shift 12hrs Sat-Mon, will be understaffed again. Which puts more pressure on the workers of that shift to do more moves, which leads to OBVIOUS safety issues. I was required to do at least 5 moves per hour, so long as there were enough moves to facilitate that. The shift requires at least 4 Yard Drivers. We consistently had 3 due to the management over-working an employee, taking advantage of him, because they couldn't properly staff their other shifts. In the interview they said that once, maybe twice a week, they may ask us to cover a shift, but it was in no way a requirement to do so. BUT, the main supervisor would text all during the week and get mad and harass you for not answering your phone. He would call or text at 3:30pm when I work 3rd shift and REPEATILY told him that I'm not awake until around 5pm each day, and to stop calling/texting that early. Then when there is only 3 people, I would do 6-7 moves an hour, more than required, and I would consistently be getting harassed by either my shift supervisor or the head supervisor to do more moves. Even though the head supervisor specially told me, MULTIPLE times, with no if, ands or buts about it, that doing any more than 5 or 6 moves an hour would be unsafe. I also told them, at the time of the interview, that my father was in failing health and the only reason I was getting out of doing OTR trucking and taking this position was to be close to him in his final months. We even came to an arrangement where I could come in a couple hours later(8pm instead of 6pm), once my father was put onto "at home hospice care" cause our family couldn't afford "round the clock" RN care. So, I would fill in the gaps in the mornings after work. Well, today they fired me, because my main supervisor "forgot" that we had discussed this 8pm arrangement extending into a 2nd weekend. They told me that "Your focus is on your father right now and not the job. We need someone to be there consistently for the shift. So, we are "moving on from you" so you can focus on your father." This was 2 days after a face-to-face discussion was had where I told him I would be back to my regular hours starting this weekend and that I would be open again to helping out on weekday night shifts.

Pros

It wasn't a good experience, but it also helped me get the experience I needed to get a better job!

Cons

Problems that can be easily resolved are being swept under the rug by the management because they're incompetent and awfully irresponsible! They made it easier for themselves by blaming it all to us and get all the terrible stress.

Pros

Easy job good pay good hours and work life balance

Cons

To much favoritism if management liked you you would get away with anything if you didn’t kiss up or pick up OT that was no mandatory you were looked down at as not a hard worker even if you out performed your coworkers on your scheduled days
