The pay isn't too bad.

Cons

Take high school politics and mix with pedantry. You'll be sold a false bill of goods during the interview process for the most part. All of the wonderful resources you were promised either go to other people or don't exist.

Pros

Great place to work with. Great mentoring. Good benefits. RTI campus has free gym and a good cafeteria. Flexible work schedule

Cons

Have to charge time to a specific project. If project ends you have to find another project to pick you up or you be forced to use your PTO to cover your salary and eventually will have to go from full-time to part-time until you find another project. This is done on your own with little help from you manager.

Pros

Overall, RTI is a great place to work. There are several pros, including: work-life balance, retirement plan, paid vacation time, overall mission of the institute, loan forgiveness options (per US government), and HQ location.

Cons

My biggest issue with working at RTI is the culture/work environment really depends on the team you work on. There isn't much of a top-down direction set by the CEO. My team is quite political and hierarchical, while I've worked on others that are much more laid-back and simply care about the quality of work you do.
