Interesting projects Talented people Your own office if you don't work at a client location If you're a PhD, this seems like the place to work.

Cons

Many of the projects are research toys that never go anywhere Company isn't interested in transitioning beyond research prototypes Many of the work done will never leave the lab and be used If you don't have a PhD, there may be better opportunities.

Pros

BBN hires smart people and expects you to use your intelligence to solve difficult problems. Everyone at BBN is committed to doing the best job possible. At BBN you get to work on cutting edge technologies and invent future technologies (email and the ARPAnet were invented at BBN).

Cons

At BBN it can be hard to take a great idea and turn it into a product. BBN is quite good at prototypes and proofs of concepts.

* Deceitful managers. * Too much company politics. * Archaic point of view of doing business. * Favoritism and cronyism * Not suitable for young and energetic people. Very little mentoring. * No upward mobility. * Not very innovative. * Responsible for your own billability. * Will discreetly layoff employees without warning if your billablity falls beneath a certain threshold.
