Pros

Ton of different projects going on at the same time. If you're a good networker and work the politics well, you can have amazing opportunities to grow.

Cons

A lot of people are bad at navigating office politics and get relegated towards doing low-level and uninteresting work. The culture definitely requires one to be aggressive to get the posh assignments.

Pros

Raytheon company consists of innovative technology, very competent engineers, a reasonable flexible work schedule, and a good work/life balance. The benefits on the whole seem to be fairly comparable to others in the defense contractor industry in which they compete but I believe they could be better. Several of my former Raytheon colleagues have departed for better pay at other large defense contractors. I believe overall compensation could be improved in my opinion and would result in better employee retention. Aside from the slightly below average compensation, in my opinion, Raytheon still remains a good place to work and I would still recommend it as a good company for other engineers to work at.

Cons

Occasionally, feel like you get lost in the crowd because it is such a large company. No other complaints that come to mind.

Pros

The location is great. Near the beach, near LAX, near freeway and public transport. As with any large aerospace company, you get decent health benefits, competitive pay, and employee networking groups. Work schedule is quite flexible with the option to work a 9/80.

Cons

In my department, it seems management are too busy to deal with new hires' problems. Unlike other aerospace companies, they don't give you anything to do (constructive or not) while waiting on security clearances. Which can take weeks to months. Other companies will usually find tasks that don't require clearance. Not as social an enviornment as I was expecting. Medium to low morale all around. As with any aerospace company, you are expected to work maybe 50-60 hrs/wk. Pay lower than I expected for aerospace industry.
