Pros

Solid portfolio of interesting technologies

Cons

Corporate leadership, upper management, middle management. Company becoming a widget factory with little to no investment into future technologies. Senior technical talent being squeezed out by crappy corporate policies and shortsightedness by management.

RTX is not the company it once was!

Pros

When I first started with Raytheon the company had great contracts and solid management more than a dozen years ago. Several contracts later and an overseas position, I found many opportunities with the company, it was challenging and rewarding work!

Cons

Then United Technologies purchased Raytheon and many things changed. What was once core contracts with solid engineering has been downgraded to after thoughts and pure chaos. I am no longer with RTX and have no faith this company can survive being striped of its equity and talented employees fleeing to other opportunities within the aerospace community. Will Missle systems be sold off to appease the woke CEO and board? Let the bean counters rule!

Pros

PTO policy is decent once you have >5 years under your belt Week off between Christmas and New Years Profit sharing 9/80 work schedule Flexible work schedule with some remote work opportunity 401k match HSA match

Cons

Merger with UTC was advertised as a "merger of equals" but basically was a whole stock purchase of Raytheon. All of the bad UTC policies and benefits changes are being forced on Raytheon. The 401k transition from Fidelity to Alight was a total nightmare. They combined two of the salary bands into a single band and now people feel like they will be stuck there for years. They even charge you different rates for your health insurance premium based on your salary. Merit increases are a joke. The company seems more focused on "woke" policies and maximizing profits than they do about providing the best product possible to the warfighter. A lot of experienced employees are either retiring or leaving for other jobs that pay better.
