      A lot of pressure on a few shoulders

      Pros

      As a company specializing in brand development/talent acquisition (creative services and software), they did have their advertising and HR game on point. The offices were pleasant enough for an open-system, and there were plenty of staff events and employee perks. The benefits were decent.

      Cons

      So much work was contracted, where no-one had any idea how it would be achieved. Some departments enjoyed a lot of slack while others had zero work/life balance.

      Pros

      Fun work environment, extremely intelligent and passionate colleagues. If one pulls their weight, they are rewarded handsomely both financially and through career development, often in a quick amount of time.

      Cons

      Long hours depending on the client base (and the time of year). An entrepreneurial spirit is required to successfully self-train, so for those who don't have that inherent ability, on-boarding can be a challenge. No 401(k) matching.

      Pros

      - Great Work life balance - Great client roster featuring plenty of Fortune 500 Company - Great Middle Managers - Salary for the Chicago market is pretty competitive

      Cons

      - Clueless Upper Management that has no idea where to allocate resources - Client service is virtually useless, filled with "yes men" that do not know how to communicate commit to impossible deadlines and commitment leaving the other depts having to clean up their mess. They act as bullies towards the other dept and make to effort to collaborate and work as a team - Very little opportunity to grow within the company - Very little training
