Pros

Good operations management. Relatively good at communicating objectives.

Cons

Due to the 3PL business facilities can fluctuate quite a bit, both with hourly headcount as well as management, up to and including facility closures. Company seems to be contracting significantly in the past few years and paints a pessimistic picture for the near and medium term.

Disorganized Software Development

Pros

Depending on the department, they may allow work from home.

Cons

Severance was unsatisfactory given the length of employment. All U.S. based software development positions in my department were outsourced, so no diversity there. There's no formal on-boarding process and the software itself is outdated with little to no documentation, extremely difficult to follow, and perhaps intentionally obfuscated. I can only speak to my own department because any inter-departmental / cross-product coordination efforts were ignored by other departments. In regards to executive leadership, we'd get an email every few months about some change, but it never seemed to have any impact on us. The only memorable person at that level was the former CTO who seemed to be intentionally sabotaging our product, even though our department was one of the most profitable.

Solid place to work, but needs some improvement

Pros

The WFH option is incredible. We come in a few times a month now, but with flexibility to come in more if we need/want to. Health benefits are decent, 401k has an alright match. There are also some really good people who work here, from the front desk to the managers.

Cons

Pay was decent when I first got here, but it stagnates quick especially when you have inflation as bad as we do. There is no adjustment to the raises to compensate for economic turmoil. There is also a severe lack of upward mobility here as well as a total lack of training opportunity. If you want to learn anything, you need to go out on your own and figure it out without any internal assistance. The promotion stuff is a bigger issue considering not everyone wants to stay in the same position for 20 years. Also, we've been through like 5 CEOs and 2 or 3 CFOs in 5 years. Hopefully Laura sticks in the role long enough to make some change. We need some stability at the top and some generosity for the bottom.
