Management lacked self-awareness. Underpaid by industry standards, overworked, and crazy amounts of technical debt.

Pros

- Stocked kitchen - Company events - 401k match - Free parking

Cons

- Toxic or incompetent co-workers. Saw co-workers who got away with incredibly inappropriate workplace behavior, like shouting, either indiscriminately or at other employees. Management seemed indifferent about resolving the situation. - Ancient tech stack (VB .NET), building on code and applications from over a decade ago. - Badly formed code-base. No code reviews, unit tests, 'best practices' or even the use a linter. Spaghetti code. - Laughable compensation. - Sales first mentality. - Company culture that seemed to push for long hours (9+)

Pros

Company is small, nimble and growing. Lots of opportunity to significantly affect the results. Great mix of physics, software and machines. Challenging projects and talented co-workers. Industry leader.

Cons

No cons. It's not perfect, but what is? Management is committed to continual improvement and figuring it out. A small company with growing pains is not for everyone but works for me.
