      Pros

      Amazing culture and workplace environment. The company really cares what all employees think, not just the employees at the management level. Compensation is fair and potential is limitless. Great place to work!

      Cons

      This is a very niche field, so unless you're coming from a competitor the material is likely all very new if you're on the finance side. Takes a little humility to start from ground zero.

This field is very niche but over the years we’ve adopted several tactics to help new hires get up and running faster such as the training site on SharePoint, the Modeling Community, monthly learning sessions, and of course our education and professional development reimbursement program.       Pros

      It's a very collegial atmosphere. I have a lot of autonomy in problem solving and my approach to my work. Though we're spread across the country, there is a real collaborative vibe. People are very supportive of one another. Great culture.

      Cons

      The process for moving up the company ladder is not well defined or documented - it's unclear what one must do to advance from one position to the next level up.

      Great consulting company, but still a consulting company

      Pros

      Lots of opportunity for travel and direct engagement with clients. Competitive pay. Better work/life balance than many other financial consultancies, although the bonus structure incentivizes long hours. Generally positive work environment and laid back office culture. Strong opportunities for advancement, with promotions occurring once or twice a year for employees who perform well and meet or exceed expectations.

      Cons

      Work can be repetitive, many many hours spent in Microsoft Excel. Hours can be long, though this largely depends on the individual; expect a 45-50 hour work week on average with opportunity to work a little less or much more depending on personal work/life style. Overall, consulting isn't for everyone, but Raftelis is about as good as it gets.
