Pros

I’ve heard this varies from your manager and office but generally Randstad offers a lot of flexibility. Hybrid work environment, and you’ll be going to client appointments during work hours which can be fun to get out of the office. I was pretty impressed by the sales training as well. You learn a lot about consultative and solution based selling both in person and virtually via zoom/over the phone. These skills translate to other sales jobs really well. I also had a lot of great coworkers but again this varies from branch to branch and manager to manager.

Cons

The biggest downside is the “commission” structure which is simply misleading. I was given OTE earnings of 80-90K year one. In my 12 person hiring class, only one person is on pace to achieve HALF of their commission target. 95% of new hires will earn little to no commission their first year at minimum. Randstad also has a scary amount of turnover. In my 12 person hiring class, 9/12 were terminated within 9 months of starting. 3 were terminated within 3 months of starting. In my particular office of 10, we had 2 terminations, 1 layoff, and 2 people quit within 3 months. Your targets are not realistic but randstad does not care and will terminate you. Which brings me to the final con, the targets and KPIs. There is 0 rhyme or reason to your weekly KPIs or assistance given to hitting them. Everyone in sales has the same weekly targets. You’re expected to schedule the same amount of appointments in your first month as your manager who’s been working in your market for 10 years. Their growth plans will consist of just increasing your KPI expectations with no plan for how to do that. This leads to everyone having to lie to hit their targets which is stressful but better than getting fired.
