Pros

The people and the work keep it a low-stress environment. Good benefits and fun if you like to work with children. Very scripted making the job a little easier.

Cons

Low-pay- it truly is a living stipend if that. You have to make your hours and stretch them if you want to reach the hours you'll need for the education award. P.s. if you don't need to pay off loans or desire to advance your education in the near future, this job doesn't have much incentive beyond internal rewards.

Pros

-Great team/people to work with -School I worked with had great staff -Watching the kiddos progress -Learn a lot of skills that can be useful later -Working with the Community

Cons

-It is a lot of work for very little pay (it is a service year) and you’ll be wearing a whole lot of hats - Sometimes work/life balance isn’t the best

Pros

Lots of professional development, mostly good people, and getting better at a national level.

Cons

Disorganized at the regional level, and do not hold every AmeriCorps member to the same work standard. It is an AmeriCorps role, so it is a large work load for little pay.
