If you are a senior exec joining the company, decent parachute packages appear to be available upon exit, which takes place frequently

Cons

Turnover is heavy and frequent. There is not one business segment that one can claim is 'top of class' and promising. The company culture is positive, but this company would be at the bottom of recommended list if one can choose where to work

The people are passionate, hardworking and believe the company will turn around. They are very resourceful and do good work with few resources they're given.

Cons

On average there's a 2% annual salary increase, morale is low and while the corporate strategy is planned, the tactical implementation is dependent upon the CEO's whims.

Pros

The people who work here are smart, fun and engaging. If you choose the right product team, work can be very fulfilling. The company culture is in the process of changing and becoming more transparent and technically relevant.

Cons

RealNetworks has historically been involved in way too many businesses and lacks focus. There are lots of unpredictable changes that come from the upper tiers of management that seem like they are from left field. Compensation and benefits are good if you are on the right project and have a strong manager to advocate on your behalf.
