For a startup has great work/life balance. Long hours/weekends not expected of engineers. Projects are very interesting, cool product, and great hands-on experience. Lots of areas to grow professionally. Managers are reasonable about the amount of work assigned and pace of completion, and don't micro-manage. Company is transparent internally about intentions, progress, and status. Relatively flexible work policy with hours and hybrid office policy.
Cons
Targeting industrial customers means company moves a little slower than working for a company that is trying to be "uber for ice cream delivery", or the next dating app. Slightly understaffed, but seem to be working to change that.
The company is small but growing fast. The other engineers are smart, dedicated people who take great pride in their work, and we all work well together as a team. While the deadlines are manageable, the small size of the team means everybody carries a lot of individual responsibility. The work we do is interesting and creative, making it easy to stay engaged and thinking hard about tough problems. I think if we continue on this trajectory we'll be in an incredible place in 5 years.
Cons
Office temperature varies between tundra and desert on any given day.
