Pros

Red Hat is a proven leader in the Open Source community, it attracts a lot of bright people from the Linux realm. There are some extremely talented people at Red Hat, and they will gladly share their knowledge with you. Certification courses and other training courses are readily available to all employees

Cons

Red Hat encourages hiring based on "friend brings a friend" policy. This works for the most part but when managers bring in friends that do a poor job, this creates issues for the other employees

Pros

Great company if you understand the Open Source way of doing business. Growth potential is possible within your area of expertise but you have to be accountable.

Cons

The lack of true diversity is widely approved and really stands out in the ranks. This can put pressure on anyone not prepared.
