Pros

Red Hat has a wonderful culture and great colleagues, and offers very interesting and engaging work. You'll not find a better company to work for if you favor Open Source solutions. They do definitely 'walk the walk' when it comes to developing, promoting and supporting Open Source and overall it's a great company.

Cons

Red Hat does not offer competitive pay in most places and relies on their unique name and brand to attract talent. This will not scale as the company grows. There is no career progression for individual contributors except in special cases, it seems only management gets promotions and advancement. HR has unrealistic, outdated views on cost of living and market salary rates in many places.
