Pros

Company culture is awesome if you're an open source advocate. If you're not, it's still a great place to work as long as you keep an open mind. Work is pretty flexible, sometimes even leaving it up to take the initiative to work on valuable projects. Most people are really passionate about what they do, which makes for awesome work life. However, there is also a real balance with life, offering pretty good PTO.

Cons

There seems to be a decline in the importance of Open Source for some people, making it OK to adopt proprietary solutions when convenient. It's probably a side effect of a growing company, where a lot of the people coming in don't have the same vision and passion for Open Source.

Pros

Truly lives up to the term "collaboration" and breathes the open source principles in day-to-day operations. Some truly brilliant coworkers who are passionate about what they do. The learning curve is very steep, but the environment is supportive and tech support engineers gain experience very quickly. Train every TSE for RHCE and require they attain it to maintain their position. Continue to develop internal and external tools to streamline workflow and make the organization more efficient.

Cons

The compensation is far from competitive. This aids in attracting those who are passionate about the technology and open source culture; however, it is difficult to raise a family and pay debts on the poor pay. Also causes a constant churn of the most skilled engineers.

Pros

I work remote. They care more about results than hours worked. I get to work with the open source community. The managers have a high respect for their engineers. Everyone I work with is a team player, there's no dead weight. It's hard to write 20 words about the"cons" of working here ;-)

Cons

They really want you to share hotel rooms when you travel. You have to give weekly status reports. You have to take ethics training once a year (via online).
