Pros

Commitment to the larger software community, freedom to define your role

Cons

Red Hat is losing sight of their actual useful products as they attempt to grow as a company, and part of the attempts to shift some expensive also-rans to the forefront has been an amount of chaos in management. Also the recruiters will just straight up lie to you about benefits; get everything in writing.

Pros

Great coworkers, amazing tech, excellent work from anywhere policy, quick advancement, training investment

Cons

Highly policital culture, growing pains are constant, no control over placement for projects, managers are not trained and hit and miss, cross team communication, growth strategy is great for the bottom line but terrible for consultant work/life balance, hard to switch from consulting to over areas
