Pros

Emphasis on employee welfare Great forward strategic thinking from the upper management Open and inclusive environment Strong customer support experience emphasis, so at least our customers really like us and don't just use our software because they don't have any other choice.

Cons

We don't have any sort of vendor lock in, so every day we are fighting to stay on top. There's no break from the pressure. Work/Life balance can suffer as a result Red Hat has always attracted people with a philosophical axe to grind in favor of open source software and have relied on that to allow them to hire top talent at a lower pay rate than they otherwise might have to pay since the people that come here *want* to be here in order to further grind that open source axe.

Still Good But Slowly Fading

Pros

- You work with open source a lot. Your solutions are visible outside and not hidden. - Soft working schedule and work/life balance. Opportunities to work remotely. - Reasonable compensations and working environment compared to local market

Cons

- A lot of buzzwords and propaganda that are not grounded by facts. - Decreasing technical level of workers. Capable people leave and get replaced by stuff of lower technical level. And this slowly decreases overall technical level of the company. - Generally poor management due to large number of internal promotions from engineering positions.
