Corporate Side Isn't Much Better

Pros

- On the corporate side, you had more flexibility than the sales side which was great, so you did have time to enjoy the perks they offer. - Lots of good opportunities for charity work. - Unlimited/unchecked PTO - Casual dress code - Drinking at your desk

Cons

- The pay was VERY low. Mexico trip are great and all, but if one actually made market-value you could afford to go on your own. Also, knowing that Luke K. is in the building doesn't actually pay my bills. - Very male-dominated and white dominated. If you're female or not white you better learn how to tokenize yourself or like their likes (video games, craft beer are good starters). - Sexist undertones. I don't think this was intentional, but that still didn't mean it didn't happen. - Very youth dominated. Although this was sometimes a good thing, the employees there felt like they were entitled to a reward for doing their job, like the stereotypical millennial. Nothing wrong with that if you can get away with it, but it seeped through into other aspects, like the fragile egos of the men. Even if they were incorrect you had to handle them with kid-gloves to tell them. - You would have no idea if there were issues until review time, and almost in a back-stab kind of way, which the´culture encouraged. See above about handling people with kid gloves. It was frowned upon to critique or correct anyone day-to-day but during review time, it was a free for all so everything was a surprise. - Perception was weighted more than actual facts/reality

Pros

Good benefits, easy to get hired. Amazing food at the main campus and its cheap too. Easy to learn the job, paid training for 80 hours.most of your coworkers are good people and are fun to be around although you wont have much down time with them.the pay CAN be good

Cons

Bad hours, fluctuating commission, subversive management, immoral sales techniques. Its truly hard to describe how stressful this job is over a review, i would have to sit down and speak with you to describe the many heatbreaking/nerve-racking moments you come across on the phone and how i had to sell to them anyways to ensure that i had a job and got paid a commision check.when i quit, my manager told be that i did really well when i got there because i needed the money and i would do anything to get it. Once i had money, i would not do anything anymore. That hit the nail on the head, i took a moral issue with the way that these sales are supposed to go, i could only ignore my empathy for these callers for so long.

Pros

Red Ventures will teach you how to sell and they will compensate you very well for it. Red Ventures is gold on a resume, if you can last.

Cons

As a sales agent, prepare to put your soul in purgatory while here. In order to succeed you have to mislead customers and take advantage of them; this is an unspoken truth and your performance manager knows this. The corporate side sees you as a number and has no loyalty or investment to the sales agents, including their master sales agents. Compliance is extremely vague and you will see people quitting or being fired all the time (they just disappear) for reasons you didnt even know existed.
