Pros

Casual dress Good benefits Some great co-workers and managers

Cons

No doubt or argument here: sales people and even sales managers are looked down upon No matter how good your performance and insight, any ideas you have are not taken seriously because "you are just a salesperson or just a sales manager" Turnover is INSANELY high Quality assurance is firing loads of people for mundane, bias interpretation of intent on calls-skewed rules They choose to "lay people off" that have seniority, yet continue to hire new employees (and then lower the pay for the new group) Pay changes about once per month, you can never plan anything in your life, (including tax withholding's) because of the dramatic and frequent pay changes EXTREMELY stressful environment

Pros

Opportunity to advance, Great pay, and good benefits. Plus, I absolutely adore the people with whom I work directly with.

Cons

"Us and Them" syndrome. There are 2 buildings: one for sales employees and one for corporate. Corporate employees get a week off for christmas, whereas we lowly salespeople are expected to make outbound dials on Christmas Eve. Corporate employees also get taken on an exotic getaway every year, while getting PTO as a salesperson can be a real b!tch. Very regimented...clock in and out, 5 minutes late and you're written up!
