Once upon a time Redfin was a decent company to work for. As typical, once they went public, taking care of their agents went out the window. Over my 7 years with the company, associate agent pay went down on average, every other year. So during the pandemic when other companies were giving their employee's nice cost of living increases, Redfin cut pay. And we were busy since RE was an essential business. Associate agents are not treated with respect by management, and not from the local full agent/employees. Agent employees in particular look down on you which is too bad. No fan of the CEO since he has to approve all the pay reduction's, Easy to do when you make good money while everyone on the street are barely surviving. Surprising the analysts haven't figured out this company. Redfin will spent millions on a dumb yearly convention and the same year cut pay. I find it fascinating they don't get what drives company morale. And the once promise to move from associate agent to full employee agent is gone, Confirmed to me by a high level leading agent, we find that AA's are not prepared to be full agents. Of course not, you do not train them after the initial two week onboarding. I know some good AA's that were there long before me that are still AA's, Many had interviewed for the full agent position but were declined. .
Important, you CANNOT make this a full time gig and survive. I was able to for a few years, but left when it was apparent the work flow was not there and the pay was continually reduced over time.
