Pros

Excellent opportunity for growth and obtaining a leadership position, fun and engaging work atmosphere, employees BELIEVE in the company so there is a lot of collaboration, employees are truly genuine in helping their colleagues meet goals and achieve success, promotes creative thinking and treats employees like professionals, not babies, excellent compensation, benefit package and perks!

Cons

The company's goal is to reinvent the real estate industry so there is constant change, new idea implementation and compensation is tied to customer satisfaction reviews. These won't be Cons if you are flexible and open to change, embrace critical thinking and new ideas and if you don't have problem putting the customer first.

Pros

You will receive medical benefits.

Cons

Don't know what goes on at the Seattle Headquarters but locally the managers are simply people who have been there the longest--they have no experience in managing people. Redfin is now based on the traditional agent model where the agent will need to see the client through entire transaction--without the commission. You will likely have 30 clients to manage in the 2014 market.

Pros

In my capacity as Senior Agent, I feel the company does listen and act upon suggestions. There has been a huge initiative to show support among the real estate folks. With a newly revamped mentor program, dedicated working areas for agents, and increased based salary for agents - Redfin is focusing on keeping its talented crew. They invest a huge amount in training (which is stellar), and provide every bell and whistle to help the agents succeed. With the volume of work I am exposed to, I receive far greater experience than my non-Redfin counterparts. This is a huge benefit to our customers.

Cons

Compensation is based on surveys to the customers. While I agree surveys are a great way for the company to know how employees are performing, there is no accountability to the customer to provide feedback (they can simply mark you low without comments). This directly impacts my ability to earn money. Work/life balance is still an issue. Although there is a great support staff helping me manage the customer and transaction, I am required to be part of every facet of the deal even on my days off. While I can chose to have support staff cover me, ultimately I am responsible and the survey for their work reflects my compensation.
