      Redfin was great in the beginning but is now poor in the follow through.

      Pros

      I enjoyed the initial energy of working at a startup. It was refreshing to be the enemy and I prospered in the adversarial role of redefining the real estate world.

      Cons

      All of senior management had no or little real estate experience, there was a constant struggle between whether Redfin was an enterprise software company or a real estate brokerage. Many of the ideas that were illicited from the staff were rarely listened to, Redfin claimed to have an open door policy but as an employee our input was set aside by management. Other times plans would be implemented without any input from the sales teams.

      Pros

      The opportunity to work for an industry-changing company, all the while exhibiting world-class service to our customers.

      Cons

      Sometimes decisions are made without seeking input from all who will be affected. We realize this is a fast-moving business, but input from all employees makes for a stronger organization.
