Pros

Reel FX is still like a family run business. There is very easy access to the upper management, they are personal and friendly. The build is filled will talented people and they are always on the look out for new talent. The creative group and production team in general are some of the most friendly that I have had the pleasure to work with and everyone is dedicated and work very hard.

Cons

The cons are they are based in Dallas, so depending on your point of view that could be unattractive. The pay is reasonable but not great and the dead are very tight, but that is true from just about everywhere these days.

Pros

nice enviroment to work, flexible schedules (as long you keep up with your work) great place to learn and move on.

Cons

no job security. low pay. managment doesnt know whats going on, i mean reallyyou could as for a shot asset and will take 3 days to come back to you with the wrong information. after each project they get ride of the people and they bring interns, so they have to re learn everything back again for every project (as if they were paying them much lower)

Great First Job

Pros

Open office, easy to make friends and get to know your team, overall pretty relaxed environment, great projects, short turn around time but allows the artists to build their reels really quickly, great people to work with.

Cons

No OT pay, but late nights and weekends are almost always required. Pay is way too low for the amount of work and effort required to completing the tasks. They like to use the fear/teamwork tactic to scare their artists into working more hours. Promotion based on friendship with higher up rather than knowledge and skill. Too many people on top are out of loop and out of touch with current techniques and technology. Artists not allowed to speak to art directors directly for feedback. The studio as a whole is extremely political and divided.
