Pros

Very talented and enthusiastic artists. If you are from Texas and just starting out in the industry you can get your feet very wet and learn a lot very quickly. If you are out of work and are willing to relocate to Dallas they will keep you busy. Dallas is CHEAP!

Cons

Artist waste huge amounts of time working around issues that have long since been solved at other facilities. No one seems interested in solving the base, underlying efficiency problems. Employees would rather ( or only have the capacity to ) build elegant hacks to band-aid the problems rather that identify and and remedy them. Many of the tools have been developed in a 'vacuum' without much input from folks with outside experience. Most of the constructive feedback from experienced employees is dismissed and never seriously considered. No one is interested in re-thinking any portion of the pipeline, only re-working or polishing the same out-date toolset. No one has onus of the pipeline and thus there is no vision for the future of the pipeline. There is no 'roadmap' to future technologies, and no cohesive plan to take the studio to the 'next step' while also delivering the current slate of shows. Horrible communication with artists about looming deadlines. Everyone know and 'accepts' that a huge amount of unpaid OT will be required to deliver the show and thats just OK with everyone. On Freebirds your only OT was 2 rationed slices of pizza for dinner. Seriously, they tracked how many pieces of pizza you ate!

Pros

It's in Texas. It's growing. Lots of opportunity to learn and grow. The company is small enough to jump in and make big moves in a short amount of time. They are starting to make their own feature films now instead of just work for hire.

Cons

If you aren't from another big company, chances are you will get a much lower pay than your co-workers. It's still a very young company and the majority of the crew are juniors with the occasion senior. They need more senior level personal in every department.

Pros

It is a large and stable company with consistent work, and Dallas can be a great city to live in.

Cons

Management doesn't appear to care very much about the employees. The pay is much lower than it is in Los Angeles. Raises are insignificant. Overtime is mandatory and unpaid. Employees are taken for granted. If you relocate to Dallas you have no other option except to relocate again.
