Pros

Employees are there to be needed--if there is no work to be done, the time is somewhat free to do with what you want (within reason).

Cons

- Raises are negligible--sometimes fully, due to tax increases and health care coverage cost increases (which happen, without fail, every year) - Cost of health care is practically unsustainable given the rate of pay. - Vacation time starts at "ten days," but, as Reliable is an outsourcing company, if you work at a location that is closed for a holiday that Reliable itself is not closed for, they take away one of your vacation days to pay you. Given this, you end up with closer to 6 or 7 days. - After five years, you get 13 vacation days instead of 10. This is the most you can ever get. - The main function of a Reliable employee is to be a person who does whatever anyone wants. We are told not to say no, to do whatever the customer asks. This means we end up doing strange things, like cleaning out offices, setting up equipment we should not be touching, playing chauffeur... The list goes on and on. As a reliable employee, you are also discouraged from ever leaving your area unattended. Combined with the impressed need to have everything finished and delivered as quickly as possible, this puts a lot of stress on employees to be available at all times, whether or not it is feasible. - High turnover within lower positions. Frequently training or working with uninformed coworkers. - Very little upward mobility. Even less compensation when promotions are granted.

Pros

The work is so incredibly easy. Flexible scheduling and you learn a lot in a short amount of time. Its a good place to get your footing and learn how about different sectors of administration and which one is the best fit for you. Excellent opportunity to network and become a familiar face to people who are in the know.

Cons

The scheduling as I mentioned is flexible (depending on who you are) but if you're not one of the favorites it can be hard to maintain a steady work-life balance. Management reaches for reasons not to give you a raise with unfair reviews. They also have some questionable motives when it comes to promoting people, but to be honest, the ceiling is low; there isn't much room for growth. Many people stay for years on end with nothing to show for it, other than a crummy promotion where the added responsibility makes the measly raise negligible. Employees must earn paid time off throughout the year. The District Managers (all except for one) know next to nothing about their respective accounts.
