Pros

Decent pay and overall good mission to help improve K-12 education.

Cons

Churn and burn culture, poor sales management, 2nd investment firm in less than five years, constantly changing target, ill-performing and unfinished products with ever-increasing prices, and a metrics only attitude (no room for work smarter).

I'm sorry that your experience at Renaissance was a negative one, and that you don't recommend us as a place to work. Working smarter is critically important to our long-term success and we have included many ideas from our front line teams into what and how we do things today. - Samir Joglekar, EVP Sales and Services

Pros

-Management is very understanding and flexible with family emergencies, sick days, appointments and areas outside of work that need urgent attention. -Staff have PTO that accrues over time, paid holidays, 40 hours of sick time per year, and birthdays or a day of our choice is now considered a holiday one day per year. -Overall a friendly atmosphere -Everyone seems to learn from and help each other -Complimentary tea and coffee every day -The staff at Renaissance are very community oriented with donations, fund raisers and volunteering for charities. There are teams that volunteer up to every quarter. -The new CEO seems to be very genuine and ready to make positive changes.

Cons

-Not many employees believe that the company represents its mission statement because it's more financially driven. -Goals increase every year even if they were not met the previous year(s). -There's a lot of position insecurity, if employees are struggling to meet KPI's or are not liked, they will often be picked at until they leave or get pushed into a position that gets eliminated. -Going from hourly to salary was clearly done to benefit the company. Employees who have worked overtime have calculated their income to be about $4 per hour (depending on the hours worked) instead of having time in a half. -During all hands meetings, employees are afraid to voice their thoughts because there was someone in the past who was fired shortly after an honest and blunt statement. -There are promises made that are not followed through with such as the option to work from home. -If employees are interested in a different position internally, it's difficult and rare to move once you're in a position.

Thanks for writing this review, I appreciate your comments . We have recently rolled out our work-from-home pilot to all inside sales team members and have been able to promote many strong performers into roles on their desired career path. Incredible Company

Business Outlook

Pros

Competitive Pay, Holidays and weekends off, good work-life balance, fun environment. The company really cares about employees, and is always looking to improve the employee experience. The benefits are incredible and the company seems dedicated to helping you find a career path. They're open to trying different strategies, ask employee opinions, figure out what works and what doesn't, etc. If you put the work in, you will be rewarded!

Cons

Sometimes the company is improving programs so quickly it can be hard to keep up. Updated training days for employees would be very beneficial so we can stay up-to-date on everything and keep everyone on the same page.
