Low pay and no investment to keep seasoned employees

Pros

The new CEO seems like he backs what he says, something seasoned employees are sheepishly approving of because leadership has been so terrible at keeping their word in the past.

Cons

To quote another review that hit the nail on the head, "They hire from the outside instead of developing from within." There is no investment in keeping knowledgeable employees. They require certifying in multiple product lines with absolutely no added incentive to do so except that is is required to keep your job. This company truly is a revolving door. I'm struggling to think of any other way besides increased vacation time accrued per paycheck on a yearly anniversary that they provide to keep long-time employees on staff. There is no increase in pay based off of merit. There is a measly raise once yearly.

Pros

fairly relaxed atmosphere, flexible schedules

Cons

slowly shifting to a more sterile corporate environment, everything run by a formula, just a smidge of the position being more important than the person in the position, and you can be swapped out for a different 'cog' if it helps meet the formula targets, regardless of what you have done, how long you have been there.

Thank you for this feedback. I’m sorry to read that you feel the position is more important than the person it. That is not the intent. We want our colleagues to know they are valued, and to feel it every day they come to work and that they are supported with what they need to help do their job successfully. I would encourage you to reach out to your manager or directly to me, so we can address your concerns. — Diana Blythe, Vice President, Content Development

Thank you for this review. It is rewarding for a fairly new person like me to see that long-time colleagues still enjoy coming to work each day at Renaissance — and continue to recommend it to others as a place to work! — Daniel Hamburger, CEO
